Are you staying in Turin more than one day? Are you willing to discover underground places? Are you prepared to have the biggest meal ever? Then, we have the right place for you! Before describing this place, I would like to warn you that this is not the right place for those who are afraid of dust and drunk waiters. The restaurant I’m talking about is Manhattan, an underground pub in Via Giachino 46, in the outskirts of Torino. Believe me, it’s worth it. Placed on two floors, you are allowed to smoke in the underground floor and in the garden, where they also dispose some tables and chairs when it’s not too freezing to eat outside. As I mentioned before, this is not the cleanest place on Earth. Always very crowded, bad illuminated and noisy. At this time you will be asking yourself why I’m suggesting you this place. The answer is: food. The menu is very wide: main dishes, pizza, pasta, barbecue, sandwiches, hamburger and desserts. Trust me, as an Italian, I recommend you try their pasta and pizza. There are around thirty types of combinations of pasta and sauces: from “gnocchi alla bava” to “timballo di pasta al forno” (if you don’t know them, have a look on the internet!). The portions are the biggest I’ve ever tried, around 250 grams of pasta, and are brought to you directly in the pan. They’re enough to fill the stomach of a man or perfect to share between two girls. Even the price is surprising! A single portion goes from 8€ to 12€. Also the pizza is really good, but what makes it special is the size. You can order a pizza for more than one person, even for six people, and they will bring you the biggest pizza on Earth. At the end of the meal you’ll be stuffed and satisfied, trust me!

If you want to taste the real Piedmuntese cuisine and you don't have time to move from the city center, you have to try "Ristorante Solferino" in Piazza Solferino 3. It's located 5 minutes by feet from the central Piazza Castello, and you have the possibility to discover one of the most beautiful squares of the city. At "Ristorante Solferino" you can taste the most famous typical dishes of Piedmuntese cuisine: the typical meat called "il Bollito", the traditional "Bagna Caoda" and the "Fritto Misto alla Piemontese" (fried meat and sweets from Piedmont). In addition, you can eat different types of fresh pasta and meat with typical Piedmuntese ingredients, as the "Tartufo di Alba", known all over the world. Turin is city of chocolate and fall is the perfect season of the year to enjoy the Bicerin (in piedmuntese, small glass) at the "Caffè al Bicerin dal 1763", when it was invented and where Camillo Benso Conte di Cavour, the promoter of Italian unity, loved to drink it. This is one of the cafè you cannot miss during your trip in Turin. Bicerin is a hot drink made by hot chocolate, coffee and milk foam, served in glass: this way you can observe the mix of different colours. Caffè al Bicerin is the perfect place to have a stop during your afternoon walk: you find it in Piazza della Consolata, where you can also find "Santuario della Consolata", one of the most beautiful churches in Turin. Caffè al Bicerin is open every day (except Wednesday) from 8.30 to 19.30.
