Visit the Silk museum
It’s a great testimony of the key role of Como in the production of silk. The museum shows silk’s history in this area and the various stage of production. You can visit the Silk Museum from Tuesday to Friday, 9am to 12am and 3pm to 6pm. The entrance fee is 10 euros with discounts for students. Find out more information
Ferries
From about April to October, boats leave frequently and are very affordable at around 5 euros per person. When you arrive at the dock, just ask how soon the next boat is leaving, it’s about a 30-minute trip and you’ll be able to see some beautiful villas. By taking ferries, you can also choose to extend you trip visiting a couple of towns. Here you should spend a few hours roaming the quaint streets, looking for one of these activities... Visit the Cathedral It is commonly described as the last Gothic cathedral built in Italy. It was built in 1396, ten years after Milan 's Duomo. Go to the Villa Olmo There are many villas along Lake Como, the closest one is maybe Villa Olmo, about a 20-minute walk from the center along the west side of the lakeshore. Built at the end of 18th century, this great example of neoclassical architecture belonged to Raimondi family and Visconte di Modrone. In 1925 the municipality turn it into a public space for art exhibition and cultural events. From Tuesday to Sunday, from 10am to 6pm you can visit this place.
